Noting the baseball field lights are old and need to be repaired, the board considered how to find money to update them. The fire department is considering a beer and wine day with bingo as an alternative fundraiser. Peddigree reported that Gettysburg Fire Department representative David Blocker had indicated there would be no Fireman’s Carnival in 2022, and that it probably would not continue in the future. “We’re lucky to have them,” said Niebler. The board approved a $.50 increase in the hourly wages for the park staff. Niebler suggested the hall of fame develop an online alternative, saying “I really think a nice professionally-done online presence would be really good for them.” Let’s see if we can find something to do about it,” said Board President Steve Niebler. “Half a dozen people come here every year it’s taking up a lot of wall space. She said she thought only one or two people were likely to come to see the plaques every year. Peddigree said there were too many plaques, that people who rented the room did not like to have the images showing, and that curtains were used to hide them during events. The board is still dealing with the Adams County’s Sports Hall of Fame plaques that line the main room in the Sterner Building. The board is also considering purchasing more trees for the park.
